Do you think that Google's reputation is going down?

Well, i have been thinking, lately, is google's quality going worse? I'm not talking about stockmarket value of Google, i'm talking about Whole Google thing. The search engine, Gmail and rest of its services.

-Search engine has a lot of spam results, google's page ranking algorithm really needs a revision.

-Gmail?? It was released almost 3 years ago. However it is still the BETA release and has a lot of problems. Gnotifier often gives errors, gmail locks the browser at least 1 time in every 4 attempts. It has genuine features but a lot of bugs.

-Do too many services and features provided by google make new services jeopartise QoS? (QoS quality of service)

What do you really think about google and its future?

Do you think that Google's reputation is going down?
There's a guy who runs a website called "info wars" (Alex Jones).

It's a watchdog group that rats on the corruption in government. Read his story on how google suppressed his page ranking when he told the truth. (so much for google's reputation).

By the way, there are other stories like this, dealing with google's censorship of controversial sites.

Still, I do appreciate google, though strangely, I seem to be getting more relevant search results with yahoo lately.
Reply:yes.

scanning your mail for terms to pop up effective advertisments on your page...

the world is closing in and we're all going to be squished.
Reply:You do have a point at the QoS - but as far as the search engine is concerned people can pay to be on the first page so the whole engine is not really unbiased as people think it is. As far as the back room programing is concerned I think Google have too much advertising money coming in to really tinker with it too much.
Reply:Google's is ok what about the reputation of laptops ?

news in today

Toshiba spokesman Keisuke Omori said the recall involves Dynabook, Qosmio, Satellite Portege and Tecra models, but regional breakdowns and dates of manufacturing weren't immediately available.

Fujitsu spokesman Masao Sakamoto also said the Tokyo-based company will be making a decision soon about its laptops using Sony lithium-ion batteries.

Reply:well all i can say google works better than yahoo and one sure thing yahoo mail beta was brought right out of gmail dont u think so but ya yahoo pulled it off much better than google ........but u knw what they say" what rises suddenly also plummets suddenly (u get the point right)".so lets watch and see what happens, all in all google has a bright future in my view though
Reply:i don't believe they will never totally release gmail and orkut to the general public. they require invites so google can keep down the number of spammers. if some one spams that you invited out both of you go.
Reply:In my opinion, google is the best place to do research
Reply:hmm i dont think so
