Google is taking over my homepage?

I had my homepage set to yahoo, but when I click the home button it takes me to the google search. I keep changing it back but it won't stay. I've already changed it back in the internet options and clicked apply, it's not something that I haven't done. My antivirus used to alert me when someone was trying to change my home page, but it doesn't do it with google. How do I get rid of the google homepage ASIDE from changing the internet options every 5 min.? This is a new problem that just started happening. There's another poster with the same problem. Any ideas how and why google is taking over?

Google is taking over my homepage?
You do have a spyware problem.

Download Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy (Free) and run the thorough scan. Delete whatever it finds. It will also give you an option in settings or tools to lock your host file and homepage. Make sure you enable those options.

If this does not work... run a thorough scan using your antivirus software. And finally, if that does not work... try system restore if you are using xp.
Reply:Do you have the google toolbar or any other google applications? If so, reinstall or get rid of them. If this doen't work - contact Google and ask for advice or threaten to sue.
Reply:Have you tried scanning for spyware? There are many free ones out there. I found this guide pretty helpful, hope this helps. http://www.basicspywaretips.com/getridof...
Reply:its a hijack
Reply:Use Yahoo's automatic homepage selector: http://www.yahoo.com/bin/set
Reply:u should immediately uninstall any google related software(toolbar, google earth, google desktop search) from ur computer.then u go to internet explorer option and change the homepage

ur problem will be soved.
Reply:Did you install any Google products? If so, they usually ask you if you want to make Google your homepage. Try to uninstall that product then change your Internet Options.
Reply:I take it you are using explorer

I don't have this issue, since I use netscape, but a frined of mine did. She would set her home page, but there was anotehr option she had to reset, becaus it overrode this option. She had a google toolbar,.so the first thing I did was turn off her toolbar by going to the view option.

I am sorry, I can't help anymore, I don't have the latest explorer, since I don't use it and can't duplicat her issue.
Reply:Go to Control Panel%26gt;Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all the programs you downloaded prior to the Google-take-over.
Reply:Spammers have placed spyware on your homepage to change it. You can download this tool to helpsolve that problem.
