Google it!?

I'm sure this question has been asked before... Why do people go through the process of asking questions here when one simple question to google will answer it much more quickly, thoroughly and efficiently??

Is it because people want an easy few points for asking? Do people actually find it hard to search google?? Is it possible that people can't tell good sources from bad when they do google research? I would think you're much more likely to get a sound answer from google, considering some answers I've seen here.

Google it!?
I agree that a lot of the questions asked on here could have been avoided with a proper internet search. But, there is a bit of an art to getting the answers we want through an internet search. Sometimes we JUST CAN NOT come up with the right string of words that will get us JUST THE EXACT information that we are looking for.

I, myself, find it easy enough to do internet searches. But I DO understand the frustrations of some people.

NOW since you don't allow email on your profile page, I wanted to take this opportunity to commend you on your answer to a senior question...

the answer you gave on here was well thought out and thought provoking. Good job!

Reply:They just want anothers opinion, thats all. And people like to think they are helping them out.
Reply:Some people DO find it hard to search Google as they don't understand the best way to search. If they're looking for a massage therapist in Seattle, they type "massage" and get 4 million matches. If they understood the concept of using quotes to create phrases - "massage therapist" - and + or - to include or exclude words, they'd have much better luck.

In my case, I posted a question here simply because the info I found after searching Google wasn't specific enough or was outdated.
Reply:Google is impersonal, whereas Answers are personal. Some one reads your question and gives suitable answer to the beat of his/her ability.
Reply:Maybe cuz they wanna see other people's opinions first. Or they're too lazy ;p
