I am having diffculty with google site maps and add on domains
It may be just to ignore the issue if someone can help me
The sites are wordpress blogs
Its is an add on domain
The domain is elsewhere the dns is pointed to the add ad domain ( say hostgater)
I am creating the google site maps with softplus g site crawler
Google site maps gives me errors
I have tried both the direct route for the name and the add on route create the site map
First of all - does it matter at all ?
- google has found and indexed the site
- should i leave it alone or delete the site map listing in the google site map account ?
- or is there a trick to this ?
Google Site Maps with an add Domain?
If Google is already crawling the site I wouldn't worry about it.
http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/g... is pretty good, but I don't leave it automatically updating the sitemap because it's an unnecessary performance impact.
Reply:First of all - does it matter at all ? - yes it does. the google site map is part of your dialogue with search engine robots
- google has found and indexed the site - great
- should i leave it alone or delete the site map listing in the google site map account ? - try to create the correct site map
- or is there a trick to this ? - no tricks, the page must be accurate.
How to get Google to index me?
What you need to do is "spoon-feed" Google bot.
Register to Google Webmasters tools https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/... and code the xml site map, like the Google bot wants.
For example:
http://cmsbuffet.com/google-site-map.xml
The webmaster tools will give you information about the Google bot visits: when was the last time the bot was there; broken pages and much more.
Cms Buffet builds and maintains the Google site map, so you do not need to maintain the code.

Reply:the point of using the sitemap is to alert google of your new home pages.
it's also good to see what they have indexed, and what keywords they have you listed for.
the site maps isnt completely accurate.
try yahoo site explorer
