Google video section legal or illegal?

I don't understand the law here. OK, I think we've figured out that downloading MP3s etc off the net is illegal but what about Google? If you run a search for song names under the Google video section you can find just about any song there you like. I've even seen full versions of stand up comedy routines that are available to buy on CD, but who would buy them if you can just Google them? It's the easiest thing in the world to record it as it's playing too. There's really no difference between listening to it on the radio or listening to it on Google - so where does the law draw the line? Can you record songs off the radio to listen to afterward? If so, can you record songs off Google to listen to afterward? I just don't get it!

Google video section legal or illegal?
Google videos on their own are not illegal, but if someone puts up copyrighted material then it is. Basically, unless you or Google have paid the holder of the copyright for the rights to view/air the video or music then it is illegal. This can be tricky though because sometimes an artist will release something that can be downloaded by anybody for free and legally.
Reply:honestly, i do it!!!! i agree with you completely. it doesn't matter to me though.
